Ott Tv Box Cs918s Firmware

Ever wonder what goes on inside your Android TV box? I mean really inside it.

Each has its own specific set of software, called the firmware. Like any piece of technology, it’s important to keep it updated.

Android TV boxes usually come with the latest firmware versions that are available. The trouble is, that Android TV box firmware can become out of date as fast as you can say “Google Update.” Some manufacturers are going to be better than others about updating their device’s firmware.

May 25, 2017  I recently bought a Google TV box CS918S Quad Core Android 4.2.2 OTT TV Box 4K*2K Allwinner A31S 2GB/16GB XBMC. The box is tested at my friends place and works fine. I think it sucks when I buy something and find that there’s no tech support after the sale. Part of is to make sure its got the latest firmware. So I’ve put together a list of all the major Android TV box manufacturers complete with all of their models and a link to their latest firmware.

I’ve also included the date the firmware was released, if available. That way, you’ll be able to see, by device, when it was updated last. Note: All files are hosted on the manufacturer’s sites or their sites or fileshares. I’m hoping this can be a resource for everyone so that their devices can be updated, secure and running smoothly. Android TV Box Firmware FAQ I get a lot of questions related to Android TV box firmware – more than any other subject on this site. So I thought I’d post the most frequently asked questions here to help you. For more, head on over to my main FAQ page. I have ________ TV box and it’s not on the list. Do you know where I can get the firmware?

This list has most of the major TV box manufacturers on it that have download pages for their products. Some big companies (I’m looking at you ) don’t have a firmware page and have yet to return any of my emails asking about new firmware. Chances are that if the box isn’t on the list below, the company either won’t respond to my questions, or doesn’t have any downloads available. Either way, it’s not a very good sign of how they plan to support you down the road. My box has Android blah.blah.blah. Can it be upgraded to the latest version of Android?

Maybe, but I wouldn’t bet on it. If you have an Android smartphone or tablet, you’ve probably seen that some companies get updates faster than others. That’s one of the huge advantages of the Google Nexus line of smartphones. They get updates first. You see, its up to the manufacturer when they want to roll out an Operating System upgrade – if they want to at all. To be perfectly blunt, most manufacturers would rather spend their money developing new products than upgrading old ones.

I can’t say I blame them for that. I bought my box on eBay, or Craigslist, or from some guy that was selling them at the local fair. Do you have an update for that? No, and he probably doesn’t either.

I hate to break it to you, but buying a TV box from someone you met at a local fair, or worse, a random person on eBay or Craigslist is asking for trouble. Sure, there are reputable sellers on eBay – absolutely. But they’re few and far between, and you can’t always tell by a large feedback score. Let me give you an example: My eBay account has over 1300 positive feedback because its been active since 1998, mostly from things that I’ve bought over the years. If I started selling TV boxes (which I have NO plans to do – EVER), then that feedback that I earned as a buyer would carry over to my selling account. Meaning it has nothing to do with how I treat my buyers. It’s really easy to scam eBay’s system to get a high feedback.
