Any of the Modicon Programming software packages I mentioned in my previous post, except Concept, can be used to modify the program in the 984-680. > a third party company that offers a way to convert the ladder program from Taylor? The only thing special about the Taylor format is the documentation. You can attach directly to the controller with a different programming software package and view and edit the ladder logic.

You will not have any documentation of course. I assume that you probably have a print out of the program that is reasonably current.

Do you have a digital copy of the program in Taylor format? It is possible to convert the documentation from one format to another but it takes time. > I am looking for a way to modify the program w/o investing $5000 for the software. If you are trying to do this modification for the least amount of money I would try and find someone that has a copy of Modsoft. It wasn't copy protected and there are a lot of copies floating around in the industrial world. It isn't pretty but it will get the job done for you. A better option might be to check with some local integrators or control shops.

Someone is bound to have some experience with Modicon and the software necessary to do the job. If you have never worked on a Modicon PLC before I would recommend this solution.

After the clarification you've mentioned above (you have a 984-680 PLC), you can rule out Concept and PL7 Pro from everybody's answers. Your choices are down to Proworx (NXT or 32) and Fastrac. You mention not wanting to pay $5000 and if there is a way to convert from Taylor.
